On a summer’s day

Good morning. Today I am super excited as Mr Beez and I are heading off on a little break …to the seaside, yay! My friend is getting married on Saturday, in Salcombe, on the south Devon coast. It is a long way from here so we are breaking our journey with an overnight stop in Bath, somewhere I have never been. Being me, it is of course not about the famous Roman baths or the Royal Crescent but all about the Sally Lunn’s teashop πŸ™‚

Before I go, I just have time to share a card I have made for this week’s challenge over at the Stampotique Designers’ Challenge blog. The lovely Jackie has chosen a theme of “Flowers, Butterflies and Garden.” I only had a short time to turn this project around and whip up this little card:

P1120185

I’ve used Agatha Bee and Agatha’s Watering Can together with Daisy Daisy and added in a light brushing of distress ink together with the tiny stamped butterflies.

P1120188

I raided my stash of fabric scraps to place at the base of the card. Their haphazard application was entirely intentional and I know it will upset some of you, but I like the randomness of it πŸ™‚

P1120185

This card also fits in very nicely with our current “Summertime” Challenge over at Crafty Boots.

Now I promised Mr Beez I would be ready to leave at 9ish, hence the early post. Whether I achieve that or not remains to be seen, but before we leave there is that all important vote to cast!

Have a good day and thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I ❀️ your Agatha and how appropriate it is with the bee nose and the watering can ! It’s lovely and perfect for my challenge this week !
I would also like to say thank you for the comments you leave on my blog, it’s very kind of you to take time out and leave a comment

  2. Fab card Mrs Beez, I just love Agatha’s expression with the bee on her nose!

Have a great time in both Bath and Devon, two of my very bestest places. If you have time, and the weather is kind, try an open top bus around Bath, it is not a very big city and this is a good way to see it if you do not have a lot of time.

I hope the weather is good for the wedding and your short stay in Devon, have fun.

    • Thank you. We did the open top bus in Bath, after Sally Lunn’s of course, and it was great. We were able to sit up top in the open air as it was quite humid. xx

  3. This is great!!! I love the use of the fabric, and its placement fits the rest of the card perfectly.
    Another winner for Stampotique!
    Enjoy your trip (:-) xox

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
