…over at Crafty Boots Challenges our new theme for the next fortnight is Christmas in July! I know some of you will look away now but I also know that many of you have already started your Christmas cards as evidenced by some of the fabulous entries we have seen in our other challenges. As you know I am a massive, massive fan of Christmas, spend all year thinking about it and even have a Christmas in July celebration. However, despite my best intentions I am scarily late in starting my Christmas cards. Each year I say it will be different and each year it never is!
I hope you will join in with the Crafty Boots fun and festivities and share your Christmas projects with us. Buzz over and take a look at what the rest of the DT have created. Here’s the card I am sharing today:
A snow globe and little houses – my favourites! To create my card I started with a snow globe template/stencil/mask from Stamps Away. This is the smaller of the two that come in the pack. First I used it to emboss, so the snow globe has some dimension. Then used it as a mask and smooched on some inks – Walnut Stain for the base and Tumbled Glass for the sky.
I also smooched on a little ink around the outside of the stencil and then created a hand drawn frame, using a thin, black Sharpie. The wobbles are intentional! I kept the mask in place whilst I stamped the little houses , trees and star which are all by Lindsay Mason. The houses and star have been coloured using Polychromos.
The finishing touch was, of course, a little sprinkling of snow.
I am also sharing this over on the That’s Crafty Challenge Blog where the theme is Stencils and Masks.
Right, I’m off to whip up a few more Christmas cards because this year it really will be different! Thanks for buzzing by and..er.. Happy Christmas 🙂
