Snuffles and struggles

Still  poorly and still struggling to get my craft on 🙁 Although I no longer feel ill ill (or proper poorly as they would say in this part of the world), I am still full of snuffles and coughs and this is slowing me down somewhat. A busy week at work has done little to help. Consequently, I’m still having difficulty getting back into my usual rhythm of posting here, visiting my blog friends and creating projects for my favourite blog challenges. Today I decided that it was better to do something rather than nothing so had a little play with some stamps so that I could play along over at Sunday Stampers where the challenge this week is to use shading. Here, I am combining two stamps from Stampotique, Star and Agatha Heart, in a little ATC. There is a whole series of Agatha Stamps including Agatha Bee, Agatha Star and Agatha Moon – Mr Beez please take note!Choosing just one was not easy, especially as my friend Ruth aka Lerusho continually encourages me into a bad Stampotique buying habit!

The background is a combination of Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans distress inks applied with an Inkduster. I stamped the main image and the stars and then paper pieced them, using inks and Promarkers to add colour. I have purposely tried not to make this too perfect (as if I could do that in the first place!) so that the finish is in keeping with the design of the stamp. There’s a touch of glitter on her wings but the camera refused to pick that up. I’ve added shading around the stars and parts of the image with a black Stabilo All pencil.

You wouldn’t believe the hug amount of mess I have made in creating this tiny little project and right now I don’t feel inclined to go and tidy it up. However, if someone would like to bring me a cup of tea and toasted and buttered teacake when I’ve done it, I might just find some energy from somewhere 😉

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Lisette, I didn’t know I am such a bad effect on my friends, and sorry Mr Beez, hope he doesn’t hate me too much. Stampotique is an addiction and I keep saying I am sick, seriously, you know 😉 Your card looks amazing, love that fabulous shading! Hope all the coughs and snuffles ran away from some inky stampy dust, (you know just explain to Mr Beez it does good to smell newly made Stampotique stamps, lol)!

    • Thank you. You will just make him sigh – crafting husbands just have to resign themselves to the inevitable and know there is no point fighting the addiction!! My disappointment is that I thought the carousel had become available from my favourite supplier, paid for it and then got the bad news that it won’t be until January. However, they asked if I wanted to choose an alternative….watch this space! 😉

  2. So sorry you’ve under the weather. Late summer/early Fall colds can really put the kibosh on feeing chipper.
I absolutely love these stamps, the little Agatha heart is so plaintive with her big eyes. Seems to me like you did heck of a job and I could see the glitter on her wings if I look at an angle. This is so adorable.
I was sicker than ten dogs (or at least it felt that way) from a really bad allergic reaction to penicillin, oh heavens. Then the antibiotics she prescribed made me sicker. Didn’t want to eat, spent half my time at least in bathroom, my taster is still off and the itching was enough to make anybody go nuts. Hubs finally got me some Benedryl that helped somewhat. Still have some itching yet but not like it was for over 2 weeks. She had me taking 500 mg. of penicillin 3 times a day, after about 3 days it hit me and I was one miserable human being. Have to say hubs was pretty nice to me for him except he kept telling me not to scratch.
I sincerely hope you are on the mend from your sniffles and snarfles. I hate being sick. Take care ok? Try to have nice weekend

    • Thank you and I am sorry that your ills turned into such a long haul battle. Itching is one of the worst isn’t it? Let’s hope we are both soon back to 100%. Hugs x

  3. This is fabulous!! I really like your shading … You’d never know you aren’t 100%! I hope you feel better soon … Tell you what always works for me and gives me a little energy is those VIt C tablet things you dilute in water … Berocca are good!

  4. It is awful that you are suffering so much with this lurgy. However it has not daunted your craft skills. Your ATC is so sweet and I just love the name Agatha Heart, isn’t it fabulous?

I love the effect of the slightly miss matched star stamps and that fabby background.

    • Thank you. It would be a great name to have – if I didn’t already have a list of “new” names that was as long as my arm! :)xx

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
