Santa Claus is coming to town…

Happy Advent everyone – it’s finally here! At this point in time I am MILES behind with my list of things to do today. I shall get there but it’s slow progress. However, I have had some lovely Advent surprises – eldest son appeared with a chocolate Advent calendar each for myself and Mr Beez, I got a gorgeous pair of festive washing up gloves and a festive washing up brush from another friend plus a lovely Christmas countdown from another.

Today I am sharing a Christmas decoration that is a bit of a spin-off from yesterday’s illuminated bottle.

This started as a wooden heart that I covered with some white muslin, I deliberately left the edges rough and ready. I’ve added white crochet lace and some organza rose trim.

The image, from The Graphics Fairy, is the same one I used yesterday.

P1060563I’ve added a little silver glitter and topped it off with a sparkly punched snowflake.

To finish it off, I tucked in a small piece of music manuscript and some words.

As well as sharing this over at The Graphics Fairy Brag Monday party I am also linking it up for the new challenge, #85, at Really Reasonable Ribbon which is a bingo  selection plus ribbon – I’ve gone on the diagonal for  white, image and glitter.

Now next on my list of jobs is dusting and hovering! Alternatively, I could have a freshly baked mince pie and a glass of mulled wine. Decisions, decisions!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Happy advent Mrs Beez. I of course know about Advent calenders but I have never come across exchanging little gifts on 1 December before. I think it is a wonderful idea, and so nice to be on the receiving end, thank you.

Another fabulous Christmas design today, I love all of the white work and the pretty image of the more traditional ‘Old Man of the Woods’.

    • There’s a few of us who are Christmas crazy and we seem to have built up some little traditions which is lovely. One of those is an “Advent tea” – I haven’t done that yet and just have mince pies and mulled wine instead. However, I think it’s just a matter of time! xx

  2. So pretty and you’ve given me an idea I’ve been hoping would come. Yeahoo Mrs. Beez.
wow you guys really hit the jackpot. Great gifts for all. Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything you’ve made that I didn’t love and admire so much. Counting down the days now to get all done you want to do. Isn’t there always a couple little things that just don’t make it? Sure is for me. Had to learn to let it go, if I couldn’t get it done I just couldn’t without making myself a raving maniac. Don’t think hubs would enjoy that. Have some fun making what you do make. Happy week

    • Ooh can’t wait to hear your idea! There are always things on “the list” that don’t get them. Year after year my bedroom always misses out on a deep clean! Happy week to you to.

  3. What a beautiful project. All that white really speaks of winter, Advent and Christmas. It’s wonderfully romantic with the crochet lace and organza roses detail. And I love the way you tucked in the sheet music. Every detail is just perfect. Thanks for playing along in the RRR December Bingo Challenge!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
