Red, white and blue

Today I had planned to share the card I made for this week’s City Crafter Challenge theme of red, white and blue. Just one slight problem with that/tag – I haven’t quite made it yet. This week, the day job has been a nightmare and even though Friday evening is well and truly under way I still have work to finish, after I’m done over here, before I can switch off, shut down and relax. I hope to get to the card/tag over the weekend but, just in case, here are a couple of ATCs that I rustled up:

The backgrounds were created in the same way – Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire which was then spritzed with water. I’ve over stamped some dots in chipped sapphire and then some stripes and splashes in white.

It reminded me a little bit of the Milky Way.

The heart was stamped onto red card and I added a stamped zentangle border. The words were printed from the computer using a typewriter font.

The second one has some stamped stars that have been cut out and applied to the background. I’ve then used images and paper from The Gecko Galz to create a little collage.

The border is a Dylusions stamp.

Now, please excuse me, I must get back to my work 🙁

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. No fun for youuu, not till you finish your work, poor dear! Lovely ATC’s, the background is beautiful also. ~Diane

    • Thank you. Finally got work done for this week so mightily relieved I can now enjoy the weekend until it starts over!!

  2. A great couple of ‘rustles’, I wish I could just whip up something up just like that. A couple of fabulous ATCs. I love the colours, especially the gorgeous blue backgrounds.

I hope that you have finished working now and are enjoying your evening. I think you should make yourself a cocktail or two.

    • Thank you. What is quite funny about the backgrounds is that I wanted to try and recreate some of the looks I get from my scraps so slapped on the ink without really taking any care and then went over with cut and dry foam. Typically, it all blended together beautifully. Now I know that wouldn’t happen if I wanted beautiful blending!!! xx

  3. So sorry to hear you’re having to work so much, not fair when it’s summer time to play. Yeah right huh? Love your cards, I always am amazed at how you mix colors, different elements, very nice. Love how you make things, so admire your talents.
Hope you can get some rest this weekend.

    • I know – normally work would be quieter but this year the opposite is true and it’s going to get worse. However, all done for this week so am going to relax and enjoy. Hope you do too. How did the banners go?

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
