Red, kraft and white

The theme for the new City Crafter Challenge Blog challenge #189  is Christmas Colours  – make a project that include the colors red, kraft and white. It doesn’t  have to be a Christmas themed project, just use the colour palette. Here’s the inspiration photo’:

And here’s the card I made:

P1060452

I’m indebted to my friend Dionne who, in the summer, very kindly die cut me a million snowflakes in all sorts of colours. I’ve used one of the large red ones here, together with white and kraft coloured ones that I die cut on my Sizzix big shot.

I used a little red glittery heart in the centre.

For the background I embossed some kraft card and then layered it up with white and red. I decided this would be a perfect Christmas card for Mr Beez and add a sentiment just for him!

I mounted it on some kraft card and then on to candy cane striped ribbon, with a couple of little red gems for good measure.

Be sure to check out what the super talented City Crafter design team have been up to and I know they would love you to share your projects with them.

If you’re thinking you’ve seen this before, you’d be right. I inadvertently gave a sneaky peek of it last week in my attempt to be super organised!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Very nice project! Have fun in Vienna; that was my dad’s favorite European city. I bet it’ll be lovely at Christmas-time, and a little snowfall would add charm, at least for me.

    • Me too Roberta – if it snows that will be the icing on the cake. It happened to us in Cologne a few years ago and was magical!

  2. Vienna? Oh talk about envious, how incredible and so happy for you. Sounds like it was a surprise trip, spontaneous. what fun and hope you don’t freeze while there.
Your card is extremely pretty, gorgeous card to give your hubs. Love the red/white/kraft paper parts. I have an infinity for kraft paper, always have.
Have a wonderful, romantic time with your honey. Happy week

    • I have my thermals at the ready!!
Funny isn’t it, I don’t often use kraft card but love other people’s projects that use it? Now here’s the thing – this should have been posted next week so keep it a secret until then!!! 🙂

    • Thank you Jackie – I realise I scheduled this when I shouldn’t have! oops! Pretend you haven’t seen it until next week 😉

    • Oh yes, it would be lovely for Valentine’s. I’m a great believer in snowy things beyond Christmas and your having snow in February proves my point! 🙂

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
