Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mums out there. Hope you’ve had a lovely day. A fair amount of snow today too which was a bonus, but where were all the chick flicks? There’s nothing like a good film on tv when everyone in the house wants to be nice to you.
Having discovered that bumper stash of twine yesterday, I decided I may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb so I borrowed some more! I decided to make something a little different for my second go at the Crafty Boots challenge, but also in keeping for Stephanie-Emma’s wedding.
I got these old vintage hydrangea images from The Graphics Fairy. I was originally just going to use the blue one which is in keeping with the theme, but thought they might look pretty as a set. I printed them out and then used modge podge to glue them to some plain wooden hearts. I painted the back of each heart with matching acrylic paint. Once dry, I gave both sides a coat of Crackle varnish.
I applied a coat of crystal clear glitter over the top of the image. Once that had dried I used a glue pen around the edge of the heart and then added matching coloured glitter.
I’ve threaded the borrowed twine through the hole and then made matching bows from my new stash of ribbon. I popped on a matching button as the finishing touch.
These would be lovely as part of a wedding bouquet or for little bridesmaids to hold. A little bee might look good too – but then I would say that, wouldn’t I?
