Merry mistletoe

Having declared the Christmas crafting season officially open I was thrilled that this week’s challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog has the theme of CAS Christmas. Specifically a one layer card. Not only does it give me an excuse to crack open the Christmas stamps, it also meant I was able to whip up a quick card before my departure to Hull (yes again!!) this morning. Although we all know that quite often CAS cards can take as long, if not longer than something that, on the surface, looks far more complicated. Or is that just me? Anyway, I did manage to make this in super-quick time and added bonus is that I now have Mr Beez’ card under my belt.

The mistletoe stamp is from Lavinia Stamps and the little heart is by Stampotique. I used Archival ink in “soil” to stamp all the images and then used Stabilo All pencils in white and red to colour the berries and heart. I added a little wintery snow (apparently we are in for an Arctic winter here in the UK) and a scribbled border using gel pen. The sentiment is by Darkroom Door.

Not many photographs needed when it’s a single layer CAS card, which was lucky, as Mr Beez is at home today and I don’t want him to see this before I give him the original.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Oh Lisette, I love this, that little red heart is popping so beautifully, and loved the lettering, the way the merry is connected type while the christmas is a sans-serif, great contrast again!

  2. Oh this is just tooooo sweet, I adore it. Fabulous background and love what you have done with the mistletoe but it that tiny red heart that really makes it work. Wow!

Bitterly cold and wet here today, I hope Hull treats you better than it has in the past, it’s not the weather to get caught for hours on that station.

  3. I know what you mean; my CAs cards take as much time as multiple stamped and layered cards. The less there is to look at the more it is important to create no mistakes. ( there is nothing to cover them LOL)But I love to make them and your card is gorgeous. Love that mistletoe stamp and that cute heart is a perfect finsishing touch! Thank you so much for being with us at CCCB!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
