Love is blue

So the day I was dreading is finally here – after my long Christmas break I have to return work 🙁 I’ve been very lucky to have such a long time off but boy did I work hard beforehand to earn it!! It really has done me the power of good, I switched off completely, began to feel rested and had a wonderful time, full of treats and surprises.

This particular Monday we have reached the half-way stage for the current challenge over at Crafty Boots where the theme is “Out with old and in with the New”.  Use new or previously unused crafting goodies, and possibly team them with something old, to create any kind of project. Today I have a a card to share with you:

The new here is one of Heather’s fabulous collage sheets, Conversation Hearts. There are two sheets in the set and they are filled with little hearts with cute and romantic sayings on them.

There’s also a similar set that has cute pictures on too  – I think I might need to get them!! You can find these, together with Heather’s fabulous new background papers, over at her My Artistic Adventures Etsy shop.

Also new is some music washi tape that had fallen to the bottom of my stash. I’ve layered it up with my very old muslin and my favourite white organza roses.

I’ve added a little stamping, behind the heart, using a splatter stamp and some blue ink.

I love the freshness of the blue and white together.

Thanks for buzzing by,

  1. Very pretty, I love the colours and I was just wondering how you had managed to do that splatter when I got to the bit about it being a stamp. Umm, something else of the wish list.

PS Take it easy today, it will be a nasty shock to the system.

    • Thank you Dionne. That stamp has been one of my best buys from SU! And you are absolutely right – it has been a very nasty shock!!!xx

  2. I never think of using this type of composition, and I’m not sure why: your projects are always so lovely. I have a problem knowing when to stop with the embellishments, something that you have obviously mastered. A beautiful, elegant work!
I hope your first day back wasn’t too awful; hopefully, they will have the grace to break you in gently. xox

    • Thank you Roberta. To be honest I struggle with CAS cards for exactly the same reason as you and, if it is for a blog challenge, it always feels a bit of a cheat! My feet have not touched the ground since I returned to work. Today is Thursday and this is the first opportunity I have had to visit my blog!!!!

  3. So cute, love the matching splotches of ink too, looks fabulous. Glad you had a nice break from work. Take care, ~Diane

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
