Well I did eventually make it home yesterday evening and without having left my suitcase on the train like I did the last time I went to Hull!!
Today I am sharing a card that I will be linking up with the current Papercraft Star challenge which has the theme “hello.” Whilst making this card I’ve alternated between singing the Lionel Ritchie song and doing a (bad) Kenneth Williams impression.
I’ve used some lovely images from the Gecko Galz Birds of a Feather ephemera set and a piece of my favourite TisketTasket paper from the Pocket Full of Posies collection. I inked all the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink and mounted them on kraft paper. I’ve slipped a piece of hessian in between and mounted the main image on 3D foam.
I made a little nest by wrapping some brown baker’s twine around two of my fingers and used some little blue beads as eggs. It’s resting on an aqua paper flower.
I’ve used some of Really Reasonable Ribbon’s pastel green diamond satin ribbon along the bottom and added some matching paper flowers, which were originally cream but I coloured them with Promarkers.
I popped on a little sparkly, heart shaped button and a twine bow.
To finish I’ve stamped a little “hello” sentiment in aqua and added a couple of ribbon tails.
I’m loving this colour combination and the spring like feel of this card. I am also going to enter it share it over at Really Reasonable Ribbon for Challenge #66 which is spring colours and ribbon.
Tired as I was yesterday evening I still found the time to check out the song I was singing yesterday. I was right about it (the tune) being Phil Collins, but I’ve clearly made up my own version of the lyrics. The line actually goes “two hearts, believing in just one mind” which would have been even better for my journal. Oh well, too late now!
