Green Cheese

This week is going to be a bit hectic – more hectic than usual. Consequently, I had to get all my blog projects ready in advance over the weekend AND I had to finish off all my Gecko Galz DT projects too. So I tried to keep things simple (not my forte) so that I got everything organised.

Today I am sharing a little altered box that I will be linking up with The Graphics Fairy Brag Monday party. I’m also sharing it with Anything But A Card who have the theme of luck – and this box, hopefully, has the luck of the Irish!

This started life as a cheese box. It was a bargain too as it was reduced down to 58p and the cheese was delicious! It couldn’t have been easier to alter thanks to being a nice rectangular shape. I used a lovely shamrock image from The Graphics Fairy that is basically a long strip of shamrocks – it was perfect to go around the edges of the box. I used Modge Podge to stick the strip around the lid and around the base of the box.

I printed the second image onto card and stuck it to the lid. Next, I used a gold leaf pen to go around all the edges of the lid and base before giving applying a coat of Ranger Crackle paint. Then all that was left was to add a few embellishments. I’ve been quite restrained for me as I wanted the images to be the main feature. I made a little rosette out of ivory crochet lace and popped a little button in the centre. Finally I added a green heart and some scraps of lace to the lid. And that was it, very simple!

By the way, the cheese that was orginally in the box wasn’t green as my blog post title suggests. It was very smelly though!

  1. Hmmm… green cheese? I think I’d rather have the lovely recycled box instead! I love that you left the embellishing on the top to a minimum. The image is beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful project with us at Anything But a Card!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
