Burlap and book pages

City Crafter Challenge Blog have kicked of 2015 with a challenge that asks you to use burlap or, as we call it over here in the UK, hessian. I have quite a bit of this in my stash but, as I have gone for a CAS card, have only used a small amount on my card.

I’ve used a square of book page and inked the edges with Frayed Burlap distress ink, which seemed appropriate. On top is a tiny heart that I have cut from a piece of chunky lace. I’ve simply slipped the square of burlap in between the two then topped it off with a small button.

The sentiment, also stamped in Frayed Burlap, is a stamp from the Darkroom Door String Inspiration, a long time favourite of mine.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Lisette, it is amazing, I love the natural look of it, the colour combo of the brown burlap, the yellowishness of the old book page and the lace contrasting the snow white button is fabulous!

  2. This is simple and lovely, a softer use of burlap than I usually see. The soft palette is a good choice, too. I really, really like it!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
