30 minutes?

Happy Mothering Sunday to all of you who may be marking the occasion in some way today.

The new Stampotique Designer’s Challenge, set by the fabulous Sue, is to create something in 30 minutes or less. Now for me, that really is a challenge as I can be sure to take hours over the simplest of projects and still end up with something fairly unremarkable! Therefore I am very happy the piece I am sharing today was actually created in about 10 minutes!

I bought these hearts ages ago with the intention of stamping on to them but have never used them. I used black Archival to stamp “Smile” directly on to the heart and then coloured him in with Polychromos. I used a sharpie to add the faux cross stitches.

The ribbon is from my stash and I used tiny gold safety pins to attach them. This was the most time consuming part of the whole project! A little button, threaded with twine, is the finishing touch.

I thought this would make a great gift for a Mum and as well as entering it into the SDC Challenge #234Β I am also sharing it over at Crafty Boots for our “Something for the Lady” challenge.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Ten minutes, I am seriously impressed – at the moment, my average speed for project is about three and a half weeks! Your colouring looks fabulous and I love the little ribbon strips.

  2. Happy Mothering Day, Mrs. Beez. Hope you are spoiled today by your family. I’m in the states so we don’t celebrate it until May.

Your 30 minute or less challenge is too sweet and the stamp is now on my wish list. Any Mother would cherish this for a gift as I know I would. Have a fantastic day.

    • Thank you Sandra – I was spoiled!! I really appreciated your lovely comments and maybe you could have Smile as a gift in May?! πŸ™‚

  3. This is fabulous, especially for something created in less than 30 minutes! That challenge is pure evil, especially for us slower crafters!

I love the homespun feel, the faux stitches, the safety pinned sentiments, and especially Smile!

  4. Mrs Bees this is perfect, Smile is one of my favourite stamps so you are on to a winner with me! Thank you so much for playing along with us this week at Stampotique. Sue xx
