Today has been one of highs and lows. I finally got my replacement laptop (hurray!) which means I can now move around with my computer instead of having to be glued to the spot, terrified to breathe in case the mains lead falls out. The low was that I took a tumble – in public! It didn’t hurt too much at the time, but I think tomorrow may be a different story!
Today I am sharing another journal page that I created as part of the international journal round-robin that I was involved with. The theme of the journal was style:
You will probably recognise the young lady in the picture as she is based on the style of Julie Nutting whose collage book I used for inspiration.
I’ve used either book pages or papers from The Gecko Galz to create the collage of the girl, adding a little blossom and a fine layer of crystal clear glitter.
The background was created using Dylusions inks and stencils and then I’ve used an assortment of stamps and paint to build up the layers.
All the decorative images are from The Gecko Galz and the words, a quote from Coco Chanel, were printed out on my computer.
This was the last of the 10 journals that I contributed to and took me the longest to turn around, but I got there in the end. Today, another of the high points, my own journal was returned to me. I’m thrilled to see all the contributions and will be sure to share it here once it’s been photographed. I wonder if you can guess what the theme is?!
Tomorrow, I shall be cooking and demonstrating at the Sheffield Food Festival. If you happen to be in the area, please do buzz by and say hello – there’ll be lots of tasty free samples. I shall be in the Winter Garden, just look for the Let’s Get Cooking banner.
