Sugar plum fairy

The Gecko Galz annual blog hop may have reached it’s conclusion (scroll down if you’d like to see my projects and grab the free collage sheet) but as it is the start of a new month, there’s a whole new batch of fabulous products for you to feast your eyes on as well as a new customer challenge which gives you a chance to win a shopping spree over in their Etsy Store. The theme this month is Sugar Plum Fairies:

Photographing my little altered peat pot basket was a nightmare, particularly on grey, drizzly morning, but I’ve done my best.

The little fairy image is from the Sugar Plum Fairies digital collage sheet. I cut her out, added a little skirt from some cheesecloth and layered on additional wings to give them dimension. Bothe wings and skirt were dusted with crystal clear glitter. Then I popped a little white rose into her hands.

The base is a cheap old peat pot that I coated with gesso and then some of the new Prima Snowflake Paste. If you haven’t come across this, it is a texture paste with sparkle. The sentiment is an image from this month’s Christmas Sayings digital stamp set.

I created the handle of the basket out of some starry tinsel and added some white tinsel around the top.

I used some silvery grey satin ribbon from my stash to create a big puffy bow and topped it off with a little felt snowflake.

I will be featuring the rest of my DT samples over the next few weeks so please do buzz back soon.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Wow, you are soooo creative; using glittery texture paste on the peat pot and making a handle from tinsel gatrland are sheer genius! I love the “skirt” made from cheesecloth, too. You’ve come up with lots of good ideas with this lovely little decoration!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
