Fairy Tale of New York

I am so excited to be sharing my project with you today, I may actually self-combust!! As it is the first of the month it is time for a new customer challenge over at the Gecko Galz and the theme is Far Away Places. Here’s what I created:

Now the reason I am so excited is that today,ย Mr Beez and I are jetting offย to New York!!!!! It is my first trip to the USA and visiting New York in December has been a dream of mine forever. If all goes according to plan it will be a Fairy Tale end to what has been an extremely hectic year.

This fabulous Statue of Liberty image is from the Gecko Galzย  Little Miss Firecracker collage sheet and the wings are from the Butterfly Dreams digital stamp set. The paper is from the Roads Less Travelled paper pack, one of this month’s new releases.

I used the large arch Sizzix Alterations die to cut the base from chipboard then adhered the head before covering the rest with the paper. The words were printed out from my computer. I added strips of faux jewels and some star shaped gems. There’s also a sprinkling of gold glitter on the crown.

We shan’t be venturing up the Statue of Liberty, I have been told it is not for the likes of a claustrophobic such as me, however we will be taking a trip across the river to see it close up!

I have scheduled a few posts for whilst I am away and I shall look forward to catching up with you all on my return when of course we will be knee deep in Christmas preparations.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Isn’t she adorable, I really think you are on to something here and perhaps the citizens of New York should think about decorating their First Lady for Christmas.

Have a fantastic trip, it looks like it is off to great start, the winds have dropped and the skies are blue. Happy flying.
