Wintery tag duo

A bit of a speedy post today sharing a couple of tags that I made for the Gecko Galz.

P1110281

First off is this vintage snowy scene using an image from this month’s Let It Snow jewel it set and paper from last month’s Merry and Bright paper pack.

P1110283

I’ve used some snow paint around the edges and then some ivory pva glue (I used Cosmi shimmer) to create the frosty icicles.

P1110281

A few ivory flowers, some ribbon and some pom-pom trip top it all off.

My second tag uses an image from the Snow Maidens

I’ve  collage set.

P1110284

I’ve used a cream tag as the base and added a little stamping using a script stamp. Down one side, but difficult to spot in the photograph, is an ivory vellum lace border. I’ve tucked the image inside it.

P1110285

Some chunky lace trim, plenty of ice blue and clear jewels and the most fabulous satin ribbon from Reasonable Ribbon have been added as embellishments.

P1110286

There will be a different tag featured over on the Gecko Galz  blog each day throughout December. Be sure to buzz over and take a look.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Both of these tags are beautiful! The embellishments on each are perfect complements to the style of the image used: both are vintage images, but they have very different “feels” to them. A wonderful project!

  2. I Noticed your lace border, since it is so hard to see, very delicate. You must have one heck of a stash girl, where do you keep it all? Hope not a mess like all my stashes. I’d be so embarrassed for anybody to see my craft and sewing rooms. Had wanted to get all that “stuff” in a storage garage but alas time got best of me, am terrible procrastinator. Had to think minute how to spell that.
Your creations are so pretty, I like to try to spot every little embellishment on them.
You must be getting so excited to travel to America, wish I lived close to New york City so I could meet you and your hubs. Do you have list mile long of places you want to see? Hope you bring warm clothes as imagine it will be pretty chilly there. At least you can find out what kind of weather is expected on internet so you’ll know what to pack. Has been in low 30’s here during day and single digits at night. Sure makes those fleece sheets feel cozy and warm.
So sorry didn’t get opportunity to answer your wonderful email last night as I’d planned to and had told you I would. Was so sore from dr. manipulating my shoulder and arm, ouch. This was to convince her shoulder needed replacing and now she thinks rotator cuff should be also..
I need to go read your email again to make sure to answer all questions.
Today cleaned and rearranged living room to squeeze tree in and do good cleaning, boy did it need it. Will read your email and answer more if needed, have to get heater for bathroom plugged in so room is nice and toasty after shower. Our furnace is in front part of single wide manufactured home so by time it gets to our bathroom which is last room in back of house, it’s not warm at all. Getting out of shower in winter can be quite exhilarating if no heater warming room, goose bumps galore, lol.
Have wonderful rest of week. Hope maybe someday you might come to CO. that would be spectacular. It is pretty here but very different than England. kind of like desert.

    • Have been thinking of you whilst I’ve been away and hope all has gone well. Now I’ve had a taste of the USA I want more – it was truly fabulous. Of course my stash is a huge mess!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. these are adorable. I love the blue one. the other reminds me of me of growing up in NY(where your heading) in the snow with my dog.

    • Thank you Christi. You grew up in New York??? That is amazing. I absolutely loved it and it totally exceeded all expectations I shall treasure the memories forever but also would love to go back 🙂

  4. Two fabulous, but very different, tags. I love all of the snow and ice effects you have created on the first and the second is so pretty and delicate, on this one I love all of the lace and the pale blue ribbon and gems.
