12 Days of Christmas Agathas – Day 9

Today’s postcard in my series of postcards – the 12 Days of Christmas Agathas was truly a labour of love. I’ve used two of Magda Polakow’s stamps that I’ve not used before – Agatha Antlers and Reindeer.

This postcard was part inspired by my visit to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York. The curtain rose and the  Rockettes appeared dressed as glittery reindeer, each hoof and antler was perfectly synchronised as they preformed the opening number. (You can take a sneaky peek on YouTube) I was mesmerised and had I been considerably younger would have made being a Rockette my career choice!

Anyway, having tried, and failed, to recreate the dancing line of reindeer using stamping and masking I opted to stamp each one individually, cut them out and layer them over each other. I used spray mount to make the job a little easier and removed the left leg of each one so that these could be applied separately. I opted to make Agatha Antlers one of the dancing crew. The background paper is from Blonde Moments.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Brilliant, I had a quick look at the Rockettes – how do the manage to move so reindeer like? I think you have recreated them magnificently. It also brings to mind the QI type fact that Santa’s reindeer must apparently be all females because the males shed their antlers before Christmas.
