12 Days of Christmas Agathas – Day 7

New Year’s Day means Day 7 of my series of postcards – the 12 Days of Christmas Agathas! With swans, well sort of, a swimming it seemed only fitting to give Agatha Pirate an outing:

I’m not sure if she is in hot pursuit of that flotilla of little birds or if they are perhaps pulling her along the water. To make the background I used Broken China distress stain and a mix of Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint and Picket Fence distress paints, some of which were applied through a bubble stencil. For the “swans” I coloured their beaks, added a little shading to the bodies and then added an extra set of tail feathers to give them more swan like wings.

Agatha’s raft is a thin strip of corrugated card with a sandwich flag! Agatha and some of the birds have been applied with glue gel to give a bit of dimension.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Avast me hearties and shiver my timbers! Love it, love it – but how this time is flying,

I love how you have added the black bit to the ‘swan’s’ bill. At first glance I thought Agatha was walking the plank – serves her right for trying to roast yesterday’s geese if you ask me.

I cannot wait to see how you turn your parrot into maids a-milking.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
