Later today we have the pleasure of attending our friend’s wedding. I’m so happy the sun is shining and it’s looking as if it will stay that way. I feel very lucky, not only because we have been invited, but also because the venue is another of my favourite places – The Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We are lucky that this is very near to where we live. Not only do they have amazing sculptures both in the grounds and in the galleries but they also have a fantastic café!
Coincidentally, the card I have made today is intended for a wedding although it is not the card I have made for my friend.
I am sharing this over at Papercraft Star where the challenge is based on this photograph:
I started by embossing some white card using an M’Bossabilities folder and my Grand Calibur. I ran a strip of designer paper across the top of the card and then topped this with vellum, white grosgrain ribbon and crochet lace.
I stamped and heat embossed the flower on to vellum using white embossing powder. I punched out extra vellum flowers to make the flower so it had plenty of body and popped a pearl in the centre.
Next, I added streamers of crochet lace and seam binding and made a few ruffles to go behind the flower.
The streamers are topped with a congratulations banner which was stamped and heat embossed on vellum.
The only slight problem about this afternoon’s wedding is that I haven’t decided what to wear! I have three potential outfits but still haven’t decided which to go with. Buzz back tomorrow and I’ll let you know and, if I have them, I will also post some photographs.
