Vintage sparkle

Well I don’t know about you, but I have totally lost track of what day it is. Yesterday I thought it was Monday so I feel like I have gained a day which is never a bad thing. Anyway, after checking very carefully, I’m fairly sure that it is Monday today and therefore time to remind you that there is just one more week for you to enter our Snow and Sparkle challenge over at Crafty Boots. I’d like to share this vintage style card with you:

This just reminds me of how Christmas cards used to look when I was younger. It’s something to do with the vintage style sparkle. Although we get sparkly cards today, to me they seem quite different to the ones of years gone by. I’ve tried to recreate that look here.

I used silver Stickles to sparkle up this gorgeous snowman image which is from the Gecko Galz Let it Snow Jewel It Kit.

I’ve layered it with some paper from the Merry and Bright paper pack and rich red and green cardstock. That strip across the bottom of the image is in fact a cut from the paper, it almost looks like ribbon, braid and pearls. The gold glittery ribbon is actual ribbon!

Hope you continue to enjoy the holiday season and thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I know exactly what you mean about the quality of vintage glitter. This really is lovely image with the jolly snowman and the traditional robin (my husband always says that it is not a proper Christmas card without a robin). I love your tinsely ribbon and the pretty backing paper.

I have noticed that this year both commercial cards and wrapping paper have much more of the vintage feel to them.

    • Funny you should say that as I noticed a few vintage style that made me feel very nostalgic and Ray is right about the robin!!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
