Vintage golf

August seems to be the month of birthdays on the little cul-de-sac I live on. This week sees one of our neighbours celebrate his eightieth and I have made him a card to mark the occasion:

Peter is a keen golfer although now I believe he has had to limit most of his action to the 19th hole! I found this vintage golf image over at The Graphics Fairy. I’ve teamed it with browns and golds plus some papers from 7gypsies that I have had in my stash forever.

Love the fold stitching down the sides of the ribbon.

Happy Birthday Peter, enjoy your day!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. HI Lisette, hope your week is going quite well. What a delicious card for an older gentleman golfer. That graphic so reminds me what I would think previous generations of English gentlemen to have looked like. Perfect choice. Did your neighbor like his card? Sure hope so. Hope we make it to 80 so hopefully we’ll see our two grandkids/daughters get married. Only have 5 yrs. for me tho and she’s just started college. She wants to be special needs teacher. Would love to see how oldest son’s oldest boy in college does with his life. He’s sophomore at college in Lexington, KY to be chemical engineer. He is such a great kid, was on Dean’s list all last year. His brother is senior in high school this year, hard to say what he’ll end up being, he’s of a much more laid back personality like his Mom and boy in college is so much like his Dad. Of course I’m so hoping our oldest grandson will beat his cancer and still be enjoying life when I’m 80. Hubs won’t be 80 til year after me. Just a sprout.
How is your son doing? Is he liking going to school and living out on his own with girl friend?
Am still waiting to get grand daughters address at college so I can send her your card, know she’s going to love it.
Better get going, behind on reading posts – Yesterday was our SS payday and today i thought Had to go to Habitat for Humanity. Hubs found a practically brand new small ceiling fan for one of our small bedrooms up front of house. Those two small bedrooms are like ovens in summer time. Take care and again, thank you so very much, dear friend.

    • Thank you. My neighbour came across to say thank you which was lovely. He had quite a birthday and more than one celebration! You must be so proud of your grandchildren 🙂 xx

  2. What a fabulous vintage image and your backing papers are amazing, love all of those rich colours. 80 is a real grand age , I hope he has a wonderful birthday, please tell him we are all sending him extra birthday kisses.
