Today I am sharing another card using my fab faux wood card.

P1030421

Yesterday I spent a lot of my day making a mini-album from a swap I’m (now rather regretfully!) taking part in. I made a little window, similar to this, for one of the pages and decided it would be great to put on a card. Once you’ve sorted the measurements, which I did using plain paper, it’s fairly straightforward. I used a one inch square punch to cut the windows out and then put some acetate behind. A little punched butterfly acts as a closure. Behind the window is some plain paper and the sentiment.

The base of the card is some more wood effect card. The mossy effect is made using some ultra-fine Flowersoft in sage green. Iused more Flowersoft, mixing sweet pea and ultra-fine citrus, to give the impression of flowers.

To finish off I added paper roses and some branches to the corners of the window.

I shall be sharing this card over at City Crafter for their woodgrain themed challenge and also over at Crafty Boots where the challenge is flowers. I love it when you make something from an idea that came from nowhere, and this was one of those occasions. It was also incredibly easy to make. Thankfully, I managed to get the album finished. I can’t share it just yet as it needs to be photographed, which will be a mammoth task.

As yet, I haven’t ventured out in the snow but its still lying thick and unmelting. I have, for once, found myself feeling sorry for our two resident pigeons – they look jolly cold and all puffed up trying to keep warm.

  1. Amazing card, I love this effect, it looks terrific. The Flower Soft looks amazing, as do the little roses.

Thank you for sharing your work with all of us at Crafty Boots Challenges.
