The music of the night

Happy International Women’s Day! I thought it would be apt to share a project featuring one of my favourite little ladies!

I love Agatha in all her incarnations and am hoping that her creator, Magda Polakow, will continue dreaming up new guises for her. This is Agatha Star and I’m calling this an oversized ATC.

I’ve used Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves for the background and then stamped Agatha on top. Then I’ve added some washi tape –  a musical manuscript and a gold and white polka dot one. Agatha has been paper pieced – stamped onto card, coloured with Promarkers and then glued over the original. The little star is highlighted with white gel pen then I’ve added a few more dots of gel pen for a full on starry night effect. The words were printed on my computer.

I’m sharing this over at City Crafter Challenge Blog where the theme for challenge #251 is to use washi tape.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Rally, really lovely. The background colour is gorgeous and I NEED some of that musical washi tape, it’s fabby, and as for the divine Agatha, what can one say.

    • Thank you. I think I got that washi from Art from the Heart. I never seem to have the washi I need at the time but then rarely use it!!!xx

  2. Happy IWD, Lisette! You have done such a sensational job of showcasing Agatha! The Washi tapes are perfect touches!! Thank you so much for joining the City Crafter challenge! Have a great day! Hugs, Darnell

  3. Poor little Agatha has no arms, is there reason for that? you are so clever and talented how you do the project and work I what you have to, i.e. washi tape. Love how you did the stars and sky.
Have missed a few of your posts I fear, sorry about that. Still dealing with ornery pc (got new pc out again). Got it going, have new cable from router to pc but still having problem getting to gmail. Daughter came over yesterday to help me and did, now I can print things, yeahoo. I was grateful for any help.
Daughter quite distracted due to her oldest girls health issues. She has to take her back to Denver again as she’s still having terrible pain in her joints and hives. Poor kid is having terrible time, plus she gained lot of weight from meds she was on, made her so hungry. Just heck of a situation, hard on her being her senior year in high school.
It’s hard for daughter as she has to be strong one, her hubs not good at stuff like what’s going on, my hubs is same way. Makes it hard when we need them to be strong one. Hard to always have to carry so much. I’ll be doing that very soon when hubs has all his teeth out of his mouth, prepare for false teeth. Doc at VA wouldn’t do his knee replacement without having his teeth removed, has infections.
His partial knee replacement will be April 23rd. Can you believe he comes home same day as surgery? I’ll have to take over hubs chores and then some. Have gotten lazy. But that’s ok, he’ll need to be able to rest and heal well. We’ll be eating lots of soup. Don’t know yet when he can get his false teeth, VA doesn’t provide those. At least we won’t have gobs of medical bills as he’s covered totally by VA (Veteran’s Admin.) one of best Veteran’s hospitals’ in country is in Grand Junction. He has 10% disability (hearing loss) from working on helicopters while in Air Force. (that’s another long boring story). At least we don’t have to pay for Medicare for him.
My full knee replacements were about 50-60thousand $’s each. I had to pay 20% of that, had both done, Nov. 08, and Dec. 09. Plus every time I went in after surgery had to pay $40 co-pay and between those I had cataracts removed from both eyes. $40 co-pay each visit for that. We were medically drowning. Scarey isn’t it?
Guess you could be glad you live in England, medical costs here are way out of right.
    Have good week ok?

    • Oh my goodness you have had a lot going on and your poor hubs has a lot ahead for him. We do moan about the standard of healthcare over here but, in the main, they do a great job and there’s no issue with costs – usually just waiting times. Make sure you get time for you too! xx

  4. Lisette you never cease to amaze me. You create art in a wonderful way and I always smile when I see your name in the thumbnails at CCCB. This is anther handmade gem. And I LOVE your use of washi tape. Thanks so much for joining us at CCCB this week! Always good to see you!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
