Sunflower marathon

On Sunday, my cousin is running in the London Marathon. I am super excited as Mr Beez and I are buzzing down in the hope of catching a glimpse of her. We will be spending a long weekend in London and have lots of treats planned. I created this little card to wish her good luck:

She is running for Hospice UK who have a sunflower as their motif. I tracked down this fabulous, free, sunflower digital stamp which is just perfect. It’s by Tim Coffey, whose Kim and Co papers I have used on many occasions. You can find it  here.

I used a combination of Promarkers and Polychromos to colour it in, adding some distress Stickles in Vintage Photo to the very centre. I’ve used a little designer paper to mount it on and added some green ribbon to the side.

So good luck to Harriet, I know she’ll do it, but I’ll let you know how she gets on.

  1. Have to really give her lots of praise for training to be in that marathon, let alone actually being in it. You are such a sweet person Lisette, making things to show your appreciation and caring for a hard job. I would think a person that participates in anything like that has to be extremely determined.
Your card is so pretty, I always look at how you color in, you do great job. Your sunflower is so life like and way you present it with bow, just right. She’ll be very touched by your gift.
I thought you lived in London but that shows how much I know, shame on me. If you’ll tell me again where you live I’ll make a point of finding it on map and duly noting it.
Sounds like so much fun going to see her, feeling the excitement of all the runners. The purpose of run is so important, think you might have heard of Boston Marathon? I’ll be looking forward to hearing how your cousin Harriet did. Just to participate is quite a feat. Nice time to share with your hubs for weekend. Have great time.

    • My cousin is very determined, when she has decided to do something, she does it. I used to be like that but am more of a flake these days 🙂 I live in Sheffield which is slightly to the North of the middle of England. I live in a suburb called Dore which is on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District so we have fabulous countryside on our doorstep but the city centre is a 15 minute drive away. However, I just love London – it has a buzz. I will let you know how it all goes and what we get up to 🙂 xx

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
