Steampunk with a Shabby Chic Twist

There is so much going on in blogland right now I am struggling to share it all with you! This month the Gecko Galz are very proud to have their Industrial digitial stamp set featured in the magazine Quick Cards Made Easy. All the DT have been busy making some samples to showcase this set and they are truly a-maz-ing. Buzz over and check them out here. I’ve made a postcard that has a shabby chic twist.

I printed the image out at postcard size and coloured it with distress inks – Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I’ve added some stamping using a blotchy stamp. Next, I printed a second image, cut out the lady and applied it over the top of the original inked image, adding a little colour to her cheeks.

I’ve added lace, seam binding and a little stamped tag to embellish.

So not your traditional steampunk but I hope you like it.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I love that this isn’t “traditional” steam punk. I’d like to try to make something like this. Love that old fashioned look behind her and your embellishments on corner with lace and tag, bow. You must have a lot of the seam binding, love that look. Happy week Lisette.
    Still have lots of snow?

    • Thank you. I have a huge roll of white seam binding that I got from Ebay and I wouldn’t be without it!!!! I use it on everything and just colour it up with markers, stains or inks!!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
