Springing in

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. It seems to have whizzed by bringing the working week closer far too soon. Today I am indulging in a spot of spring madness by taking a day trip to London for a football match. It’s not an ordinary match, but a testimonial for a long-serving player so the result won’t matter, it’s about having fun!! Not sure Mr Beez is overly thrilled as we support different teams, but he’s coming along to keep me company. I’ve promised him chips on the way home from the best chip shop in the world!

We have a new challenge starting over at Crafty Boots today and as you might have guessed from the title of the post, the theme is Spring.

My card uses an image from the Gecko Galz February Dreams collage sheet that is full of spring  flowers.

I opted to print it onto watercolour card and then ransacked my “scraps” bag for bits of lace, trim and fabric to frame it.

I’ve also thrown in a few buttons for good measure.

I haven’t added a sentiment to this yet as, if I haven’t made a card with a specific purpose in mind, I prefer to wait.

Sadly, today may well be my last trip to Upton Park as my team is moving to their new ground, the Olympic Stadium, at the end of the season. I am not particularly happy about this move even though the new stadium promises to be an all-singing and dancing one. I will probably need an extra-large portion of chips to cheer me up 🙂

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. What a gorgeous image, I love the baskets of spring flowers – when I was a little girl my mum would help me make lots of pots of spring flowers to give to my aunts at Christmas. They were so pretty and I am sure that is where i get my love for the hyacinth perfume.

Your fabric frame is lovely, such pretty flowers.

    Enjoy the football.

    • I love the smell of Hyacinths too!!! I remember buying a pot (a see through thing so you could see the roots) from Woolworths and planting a single bulb. I think I might get Mr Beez to plant some up. xx

  2. What a very sweet, spring-y card, from the image on down to the pretty fabric, soft pink buttons, and lacy flowers. This is perfect!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
