Saturday not only marked the official start of winter but also the start of the days beginning to lengthen. Apparently, according to the weatherman, longer winter days also means the possibility of harsher winter weather. December has been mild, even if we have been hit with harsh winds and rain, and it’s unlikely that in this part of the world that we will experience a white Christmas.
The new challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is “Snow and Sparkles” as chosen by the talented Sara. Here’s my Design Team card:Both the image of the girl and the Christmas sheet music are from The Gecko Galz. I printed the image of the girl in black and white instead of colour and have edged both images with silver glitter.
I’ve tucked in a doily between both images and added some organza rose ribbon trim across the centre, popping a little pearl in the centre of each flower.
In one corner there’s a bow with some tiny rosebuds. I gave the buds a coat of white acrylic and chunky glitter.
In the opposite corner I’ve used paper roses and more glitter.
I though this would make a lovely winter birthday card and gave it to my sister-in-law who has a December birthday.
Be sure to buzz over and take a look at what the rest of the Crafty Boots Challenges design team have been up to. The challenge is open right up until noon on 5th January and we very much hope you’ll be able to share your “snow and sparkles” project with all of us.
Thanks for buzzing by.
