Sitting on a rock in the bay

What wouldn’t I give for a little trip to the seaside right now? There’s nothing like it for blowing away the cobwebs and I love all the traditions of the English seaside in particular. You won’t get me leaving a seaside town without having had a pot of cockles, a stick of rock, at least one doughnut and, of course, a bag of chips! Perhaps it is quite a good thing that Sheffield is about as far away from the coast as you can get for a city on a smallish island!

All that pre-amble was to remind you that it is week two of our “Life’s a Beach/Summer Holiday” challenge over at Crafty Boots. As ever, there is a feast of inspiration from our Design Team and guest designers. Here’s  a cute card that I made:

P1100694

This cute image is from the Gecko Galz By the Shore collage set. I’ve teamed it with some paper and cardstock from my stash.

P1100695

The beautiful salmon pink chequered ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I’m not sure where the pink gingham ribbon came from.

P1100696

A little piece of coordinating mini pom-pom trim and a couple of white buttons are the finishing touches.

Have a good week and thanks for buzzing by.

    • Thank you – it’s funny as when you first look at the image it doesn’t appear pink, but red did just not go with it! xx

  1. Maybe I need to buy some papers, ribbons from your sources. Love it all Lisette. what’s not to love? You have such wonderful talent of putting just right embellishments on your creations to make them just right/perfect. Never get tired of seeing what your posts/creations will be.
You must have quite a selection of trims/ribbons/papers. You have awesome talents.
We have not been to local state park lake all summer. Usually we’d go on my b/d but it rained so no lake yet. grumble, grumble.
Hubs is out spray painting a wonderful bargain I scored at our Goodwill last week. Yeahoo finally. Still can’t believe my luck. Hubs asked me why I needed that? Need has nothing to do with it. A white wicker night stand with drawer and arched top white wicker mirror for $20. Still can’t believe it. Usually something like that would have been about $40 for both pieces but $20 for both, oh yeah.
They are needing just little spruce up with some white gloss spray paint. I don’t buy expensive brand, buy our local hard ware store’s brand that is almost half and does good job. Plus I can run to those stores (two of them within mile of each other) in hurry. Big stores for better brands are in Grand Junction which means I have to get snazzied up to go there and takes lots longer.
Our local hardware stores are about 4-5 miles away and can go there in my around house clothes. Can hardly wait for pieces to dry so can put in our room. Wish I could move bed back to long wall but takes both hubs and I, getting to be bit too much for both of us. We have king bed and it’s a real devil to move.
Have great week dear lady. Can you believe kids here started school last Monday/3rd. Poor things, feel bad for them when it’s hot out, summery and they’re in school.

    • Oh your make over sounds exciting, I hope it is all finished and looks cool. Can’t believe your schools are back whilst it’s still summer, although here, when they go back in September we usually get a second burst of summery weather 🙂 xx

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
