Retirement

Yesterday was a fairly momentous day in the Beez household. Not because I finally managed to get my bedroom clean and tidy, which, shamefully, was fairly momentous, but because  Mr Beez got to hang up his working boots forever and retired. This was a few months ahead of schedule, due to reorganisation and cutbacks. His last day was quite an emotional one with lots of lovely messages, gifts and speeches. To mark the occasion, I whipped up a little card for him:

The coordinating papers and sentiment are all by Craftwork Cards and the ribbon is from my stash. I can’t remember where I got the little wooden moustache, possibly Ebay. Now the impact of his retirement probably won’t kick until after Christmas, when I return to work, as he would have been taking a Christmas break anyway. So just to be sure he was clear about what the future holds, I also made him this little gift:

Don’t you just love how long those pages are??! Plenty of ruled lines inside to keep him nice and busy!

I don’t know what you have planned for your day, but we’re off to try and crack the Christmas food shop.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. it won’t be long before he doesn’t know how he got everything done in a day. i got my dh a shirt that says in big letters “i’m retired” in smaller letters it says someone please tell my wife. congrats on his retirement.

  2. Great card and notebook cover, lovely strong images and the papers are gorgeous.

I hope Phil has a great retirement and works out the art of spinning out nothing to fill his day. The big question is, does he know where he put that to do list?
