Postcard from the beach

Today I am sharing another project that I made for this week’s Summer Holiday challenge at Crafty Boots.

As you know, I have a bit of a beach hut thing going on at the moment and have made a little postcard collage. Actually, this was just an excuse to use some fabulous digital background papers that I bought from the super, super talented Kate Crane. You will know that Kate is a journal genius and she has now made some of her fabulous backgrounds available, as digital downloads, in her Etsy shop.  I simply cut into them to create my collage (some of the left overs were used to make yesterday’s inchies).

I added a wash of acrylic over the top of the background (which included that fabulous sun like shape)to help the beach huts stand out. I added some stamping to create a dotty shingles and some waves. Each house was cut as a single piece and then I added eaves and a door, using a black Stabilo pencil to add some depth. I also added a few doodles of my own.

The words were printed on my computer.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Hi Mrs Beez, aren’t these adorable? The backgrounds are gorgeous and the beach huts so sweet.

Frankly, it is so hot here I wish I were sitting by a river with my feet dangling in the water. Bliss!

    • Thank you. I need a foot spa. Am having to make do with showering them each evening but to be honest after 13 hours on my feet I am numb below the knees so can’t really feel it. Longing for a soak in the bath, but just have a shower here.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
