Today I’m sharing another card that uses my snowflake dies. This time without the stamping and I have to tell you that after Thursday’s fandango of prising the shapes out of the dies, thicker card makes the job a lot easier.

P1060321I will be sharing this card over at Really Reasonable Ribbon for Challenge #83 – Christmas/Winter Holidays and ribbon. My original intention was to use some more of that RRR dreamy, creamy satin ribbon that I used yesterday but I..er.. messed it up so had to change my plans.

For the background I built up layers of dark brown, gold glitter and chocolate card. The top layer was embossed using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I love the glittery gold against the brown card.

I die cut three snowflakes, in different sizes and layered them up, adding a pearl to the centre.

P1060322There’s another small snowflake in the corner.

P1060318I used cream scallop lace and some brown, gold stitched, grosgrain ribbon along the bottom plus a little snippet at the top of the card.

The sentiment is from Anna Griffin.

P1060326Love how this turned out and love the slightly unusual colour combination.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. This is gorgeous! I never would have thought of using this color combination ~ you definitely have me re-thinking my Christmas card for this year!

    • Thanks Lori, glad you like. It wouldn’t normally be my choice but…as soon as I put that gold glitter against the chocolate brown I was sold! It should have been cream ribbon but I messed up the last bit I had! x

  2. This is beautiful! Chocolate brown isn’t normally a color you associate with Christmas but I love it especially with the gold. Very rich looking.

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
