Happy Birthday Mr Beez

Mr Beez is celebrating his birthday today, always good when it falls over the weekend and he has the prospect of watching England play their first World Cup match tonight.  Today I am sharing the birthday card that I made for him.

I picked up this vintage football card on Ebay. I’ve created mats and layers using his team’s colours to create the background, adding some punched stars in the corner.

In the opposite corner I’ve used white seam binding and some blueberry twine to create what I hope looks like a little rosette and topped it with a star shaped brad.

This card would be great to share over at Crafty Boots where our current challenge is sport. There is still a week left for you to share your projects with us and we would love it if you could join us.

Of course Mr Beez will be thoroughly spoiled all day, I already got up and made the early morning cup of coffee and tonight I will be cooking steak with pomegranate. In between I have promised him a trip to Hobbycraft – how thoughtful am I ????!!!!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Happy birthday Mr Beez, let’s hope that England can give you a special birthday present.

Such a cute card, I love the vintage footie card and the Spurs colour scheme looks very smart.

    Have a great weekend.

  2. Happy birthday Mr. Beez. Have a wonderful day and don’t do too much shopping at Hobbycraft. The project is beautiful. Love the layering.

  3. I love your card for your hubs so much, perfect. Leave it to you to make such a wonderful card for him and I bet he loved his card. A trip to Hobby craft? How lucky can he get? Does he enjoy going to look around? Hope his b/d was wonderful and your anniversary also. Happy weekend Lisette

    • Thank you. Er…he hates looking round so usually goes to the DIY store. Then he will suddenly appear at the end of one of the aisles looking menacing! I have been known to run in the opposite direction and “lose” him for awhile longer 🙂

    • Thanks Margaret, he had a great weekend aside from the shopping bit where I had to be shooed out of Hobbycraft 🙂

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
