Hanging on to that holiday feeling!

Back safe and sound from our holiday in Valencia, having had a fabulous time, feeling rested and trying really hard not to think about the dreaded return to work tomorrow. So what can I tell you – Valencia is an amazing city, easy to get around thanks to a clean and efficient Metro system, stuffed full of fabulous architecture both old and new, street cafes galore plus the sea and beach. Oh, and it also produces a delicious local cocktail – Aqua De Valencia, a combination of Cava, fresh Valencia orange juice, gin and vodka. Very refreshing, the orange juice is the star of this particular show which also makes it a little dangerous!

I’m very happy that my blog posts all seemed to post as I had scheduled them and I was thrilled to read all your comments. It was like returning to a group of friends and cheered me up so thank you if you left a comment in by absence, it was hugely appreciated.

On to today’s post and a card I have made for this week’s challenge over at City Crafter who have some cooling colours as this week’s theme:cooling

Hanging on to my holiday, as the title of this post suggests, I’ve created another little beach themed card:

P1040798I used my lovely water droplets stamp, by Ryn, and stamped in sea blue onto light blue card, adding a little ink around the edge. The shells and starfish were stamped, using coffee coloured ink, onto sand coloured card. I curled them around scissors and used glue gel to adhere them so that they have some dimension.

I made a little arrangement of “coral” and pearls in one corner and a twine bow in the other.

Valencia has an amazing Oceanographic Centre, housed in a stunning modern complex, where we saw the cutest little seahorses, starfish the size of Wakefield and where Sharks and other marine creatures swim over your head.

P1040784So tomorrow it’s back to work, but it’s not all bad news. I shall also be celebrating my blogiversary, which will see the start of a very special month long project in support of a very good cause  AND I will be giving away blog candy, so be sure to buzz by tomorrow for all the details.

  1. Simply gorgeous, I love these cool colours and the seaside theme. Your bubble stamp is really fab and works so well with your sea creature stamps.

I now have an urge to wriggle my toes in he sea and feel the pleasure of waves splashing my legs as I sink into the sand (big sigh!)
