As we have moved into the second week of our stars or stripes challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges I thought I’d share a birthday card that I have made for a friend who is celebrating her birthday at the weekend:

Did I mention that she also has three cute ginger cats? These kooky kitties are by Kira Nichols for  Stampotique. There are actually four on the stamp and it was very difficult to decide which one was left on the sidelines. The cats were coloured with Promarkers.

The pile of presents is Daniel Torrente’s Piling Things for Stampotique. I’ve coloured the parcels with Poloychromos and decoupaged them – I think there are four layers in total. Cats and parcels were applied with glue gel to give dimension.

The Stampotique stars you will recognise from yesterday, I added a little colouring and some crystal clear glitter.

I added some stamping and inking around the edges and finally, and with huge risk of mucking the whole thing up,  the sentiment.

Today is one of the days when I would really rather stick my head under the duvet and pretend it’s not happening. Now if I were I cat, I could do just that!

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Ah, fabulous card, those cats are so cute and I am seriously impressed with your use of posh pencils … please could I have lessons?

I am also loving the splatter and bling.

    • Thank you. Trial and error with the Polychromos – wish there was a decent, basic YouTube tutorial – they all seem to be for complicated masterpieces and don’t explain the techniques!!!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
