For Dad

With Father’s Day fast approaching, it seems to be all about the men in terms of my current crafting.  Today is a card I have made to share over at the Really Reasonable Challenge Blog where the theme is masculine and ribbon/trim.  Here’s what I have come up with.

P1040530This card uses some of last month’s lovely papers and images from the Gecko Galz. I started with the Time Flies paper from the Dapper Dan paper collection, reducing it so that it fitted the card perfectly.  I ran two different types of brown ribbon across the top of the card.

The image is from the Sharp Dressed Man collage set and I’ve created layers of At The Station paper and brown card and used 3D foam to attach it to the card.

I coloured a little tag with Vintage Photo distress ink and then stamped it with the word Dad and some stars.

To finish, I added a little punch star, a manly ruffle of ribbon and some tiny black buttons.

Sadly, my dad is no longer alive, but this card takes me back to a time when he was and I famously wrote in my school “news” “my Daddy has a lot of shirts!”

  1. Fab card, I love this image and the way you have made it look like a TV with the buttons.

These days Father’s Day makes me feel very sad as I miss mine a great deal.
