Happy Easter! I hope you have a lovely day whatever you are up to. I shall mostly be eating chocolate – you just can’t beat an Easter egg 🙂
It is also time for a new challenge over at Anything But A Card and our theme for the next three weeks is “Fool’s Gold.” You can interpret this anyway you like, when you link up, just provide a brief explanation of how your project fits the theme. It goes without saying that you can share anything but a card! I have a little Easter project to share with you today:
There is something quite magical and irresistible about gold foiled eggs, especially if they are hidden outside in the garden. That was the inspiration for my little Easter scene. Can you see the little golden eggs peeking out from the undergrowth? Take a closer look:
Those golden “eggs” are actually little berries that I pulled of a spray of mixed berries. They are perfectly egg shaped. The lovely images are from the Gecko Galz Easter Parade Kit. I’ve given the bunny a little cotton tail fashioned out of a piece of muslin.
The cracked egg, which is papier mache, was something I rediscovered during my on going tidy up. I gave it a coat of gesso and then a couple of coats of white acrylic paint before filling it with Icelandic moss. The images are secured in the moss using cocktail sticks. I’ve mounted the egg on a painted spool that has also been decorated with moss.
To finish, I decorated the shell with sweetheart blossoms in spring colours.
This will be part of my Easter centre piece on my dining table along with some real chocolate eggs – wrapped in gold foil of course!
I also used that cute bunny image on my Easter card for Mr Beez:
In Microsoft Word, I used two images, reversing one and changing the colours. You can do all this using the options on the picture format tool bar. I created the words in a text box so they could be positioned near the images and then printed out.
I’ve mounted the image on some smoky blue card then added coordinating ribbon and a button. I gave the bunnies the same little cotton tails as before.
Hope you have an enjoyable day and thanks for buzzing by.
