Ok, I struggled for a title for this post but it is a case of being what it says on the tin! The challenge at City Crafter is to use felt in your project:
Not easy to show this at it’s best in a photograph! I knew I had a bag of felt somewhere, but wasn’t sure what was in it. It’s got to have been in my stash for at least 10 years and I would guess some of it is even older. Turns out it wasn’t a bad selection, including these two pretty pinks that I used for my flower. I used Spellbinders Blossom 3 die and my Grand Calibur to cut the flower shapes. I used a glue gun to join the pieces of together and whilst the glue was still warm, I pushed the felt down into sponge so the flower puckered up a bit. I did the same when I added the button centre which I first threaded with candy baker’s twine.
I layered some pink spotted paper onto pink card, wrapped it with more baker’s twine and added a little bow. You can just about see the “happy birthday” that I stamped in pink.
The finishing touch was to add two little pink gems. I quite like the clean simplicity of this card, but I am especially pleased with the stamping as using colour is a new departure for me.
I seem to have developed a trend for making pink cards for City Crafter, this has not been intentional. But I can’t deny I do love pink!
