Embossed snowflake

Today I am sharing the second of my DT pieces for the Crafty Boots “something old something new” challenge. As previously, I’m using some new/old supplies i.e. things that have been in my craft room for quite awhile but have never been used.

I can’t quite believe that I have never used this Tim Holtz/Sizzix Layered Snowflake die and embossing folder set before!

The words are from the Holiday Words thinlets die set.

First I prepared the base by roughly covering an old piece of corrugated card with gesso. Then I scraped on a little Snowflake Texture Paste and left it to dry. I cut the words and snowflake from grey card and used the matching texture fades folder to emboss the snowflake. Next, I rubbed on a little gesso and once that had dried a little Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire distress inks. Finally, I dotted on some crystal clear glitter glue. The ribbon is seam binding coloured with Iced Spruce and Tumbled Glass distress inks.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. This is a beautiful card and you have created a lovely icy colour with your inks, just perfect for the snowflake,

PS I completely forgot to use my word dies this year, I only remembered them when I saw this card!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
