Elephant love

We’re moving into the second week of our “Something for the Lady” challenge over at Crafty Boots. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying all the fabulous entries we’ve had so far. I’m sharing a card that I had to rustle up quickly for a friends birthday that I had..er…shall we say “overlooked.”

Whilst looking for a suitable elephant digital stamp I happened across a fabulous tutorial, that includes a downloadable template, to make elephants out of book pages.

I’ve used papers by Stampin’ Up! to create this one and reduced the size slightly so it would fit comfortably on a standard sized card. I intended to use patterned papers so that mine looked very different from the original but it looked so cute with the printed pages I went with those but customised the face by adding in some eyelashes and blushing cheeks.

The design best suits a bold background or, as I chose, something quite plain. I experimented with some book page flowers but they didn’t look quite right so opted to use my favourite Stampotique daisies stamp.

I am also sharing this card over at City Crafter Challenge Blog where there current challenge theme is to include an elephant.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. I fell in love with this card the moment I saw it, it is so cute. Little Nellie is just adorable with her rosy cheeks and long eyelashes and the little white daisies really pop off the kraft card and look fabulous.

    Have a great week.

    • Thank you Roberta – I’m wondering whether some Halloween papers might work…nearer the time of course 🙂 Hope you’re well? x
