Dashing through the snow

I have another of my Crafty Boots DT pieces, that I made for our current Snow and Sparkle Challenge, to share with you today. Apologies in advance for the dark photographs.

This project started out as a little hanging but ended up as a card, albeit a chunky one as the base is some thin chipboard. I applied gesso to the base and then applied some Prima Snowflake texture paste through a flowery stencil – this gives a nice sparkly finish, but the glitter doesn’t shed once it has dried so I could add Spun Sugar, Smoked Hickory and Iced Spruce distress inks on top.

The image is from the Gecko Galz Snow Maidens collage set and I’ve framed it with some white crochet lace.

I added a few more strips of lace, plus a flower and some bejewelled snowflakes from my stash before finish off with a little coordinating bow.

To transform this into a card I just covered the back of the chipboard with some white cardstock to tidy it up. Once I know who the recipient is I will add a little extra decoration to the reverse side.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. This is so pretty, I love the pink shades and all of the sparkle. You have given me a great idea for decorating my plain snowflakes.

Hope your week is going well.
