Cupcake zentangle

Today I have a card to share that uses another of those fabulous Zentangle images from the Gecko Galz.

I’ve used some paper from the Wild Roses paper pack and printed the image directly on to it before creating mats and layers from kraft card and more of the paper. I’ve distressed the edges of each layer.

In the corner is a tiny scrap of lace, ribbon and a sweetheart blossom.

Along the bottom are layers of net lace and a bow made from some crinkled seam binding. As usual I coloured white seam binding with a Promarker to get a coordinating colour.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. My first reaction as I looked at your stunning card was wow, now that really isn’t bad for a first attempt at zentangle. I know I could never be that good, perhaps I’ll not bother. Lol!

Nonetheless, it is a stunning image and the more your look at it the more you appreciate the talent in creating it, we have got to try this. I love the delicate backing paper and the pretty lace and bow.

    • Ha ha!! We should give zentangling a go perhaps? I keep thinking it would be good to play on the train but somehow…..!!! xx

  2. This is such a gorgeous card Lisette. I love typing your name, it’s so pretty
( I have always disliked my name, who wants to be called PlainJane by their own mother? Felt like telling her, i got what i look like from you and dAd, no say in it, lol.) Have used middle name since i was 37, she had fit but my name, she wasn’t one being called plain jane.
Do you download those images then print them out on papers? I’ll have to try coloring the fabric tape with my pro-markers when I want a certain look. Your creations are always so lovely and meaningful.
How’s it going at work? Have things calmed down for you at all? Think might have missed couple of your posts, pc being hatefu (more like me messing up). Noticed it’s mostly when am in Google chrome. There are advantages and definite disadvantages to using it. I keep getting a DNS look up error message too often. Very annoying.
Anyway, love your card and how you put it together. Happy days

    • Thank you. I did just print this out onto patterned paper – so very simple. So funny about names isn’t it! I struggle all the time with mine and which I had been called something straightforward! Only today I have been on a course and had to introduce myself to the group. I hated doing it as a child and still do as I know there will be a fuss!!! If I had a middle name I think I would use that instead. Work is still madly busy and I now have cuts and burns to add to the blisters, but that’s the least of my worries. Thank you for thinking of me πŸ™‚

  3. What a sweet card and I love the Zentangle image, you have really inspired me to the possibilities of what can be done with these also. ~Diane

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
