Clean and simple Christmas

Today I am looking forward to my second Christmas lunch outing, this time with some of my work colleagues. Having enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies with a friend yesterday, I hope I can find a little room for turkey and all the trimmings today. My friend’s house was a little oasis of stylish calm amidst the frenzy and chaos in mine. Although she claims if I had been round in the morning I would have seen her in a mess of presents and paper, I don’t for one minute believe it. Some people, unlike my good self, can do everything without a hair out of place. My friend is one of them! Her house was undoubtedly festive, but in contrast to my own, in a very clean and simple way.

All of that pre-amble brings me to today’s project which is a clean and simple Christmas card which I made for the My Artistic Adventures Challenge blog challenge.

Unintentionally, this has become the prototype for THE card that I am sending out to all my friends. You may recognise the tree from a previous project and it comes from Heather’s lovely Non-Traditional Tree Tags collage sheet.

I’ve used a glue pen to add crystal clear glitter to the dots on the trees.

There’s a wisp of muslin and a tiny piece of lace that have been topped off with a dusting of clear glitter. The sentiment is included on the collage sheet.

If you have yet to make your Christmas cards, or want to get ahead for next year, take a look at Heather’s lovely selections in her Etsy shop and make sure you link up your fabulous creations with the challenge.

Before I go out this morning I just have the minor matter of cooking 60 gingerbread shapes for an event I am going to tomorrow. No matter how hard I try, it will undoubtedly result in more mess!!!

Thanks for buzzing by.
