Circle in the sky

The lovely Nellie is hosting this week’s Stampotique Designers’ Challenge and her chosen theme is All Creatures Great and Small. For me this was a great excuse to get out Jo Capper-Sandon’s adorable little Starbird with Chick stamp to create a card:

I have had this stamp in my Stampotique collection for a little while but not used it.Β If you don’t know this particular stamp, there is a smaller version on the side as well as the one you see here. Β I created the moon by masking off a circle and swooshing on distress inks with a brush.

Next I stamped the bird and then added some Picked Raspberry distress ink with a waterbrush, incorporating the blues that overlapped the image.

I’ve used a torn off piece of washi tape for the musical notes and then some additional stamping for the branches. The eagle eyed amongst you will spot that the washi is actually upside down!

The stars and words are rub-ons by Tim Holtz.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  2. I love this–so simple, so pretty, and very different! Very creative use of washi tape, even if it is upside down! Maybe the scene could benefit from a few white dots ? πŸ™‚
