I did warn you earlier this week that I had a bit of a floral thing going on this week and today is no exception.
I have created this card to share over at Crafty Boots for this week’s challenge that has the theme of Rainbows.I started by stamping the flowers in black using my Sheena Douglass stamp. I’ve coloured these in using Promarkers – one for each colour of the rainbow. I still use the mnemonic “Richard of York gave battle in vain” to help me get this right. (This seemed quite appropriate as we now know not only did he battle in vain but he also ended up buried under a carpark.) I used a white pen to add the spots before cutting out the flowers.
Now these looked very pretty and I spent no end of time arranging them, but I will admit to being at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. Then I happened on some inspiration over at Eileen’s Crafty Zone and thought I could do may own version, especially as I’d done something similar previously for an Alice themed challenge, using a fountain image from The Graphics Fairy.
I happened to have some paper already dyed with Dylusions inks so I popped this on top of black card. The black and white spotty ribbon seemed in keeping and kept the card looking jolly. I did lots more arranging before finally gluing down the flowers. I added some white punched flowers for contrast.
I hope you’ll agree that this does have a lovely cheery feel, just like you’d expect from a rainbow. Be sure to check out the inspirational projects over at Crafty Boots, there’s a riot of colour and my friend Dionne has made a super set of altered clothes pegs.
