I’m managing to get ahead with my birthday cards, as the one I am sharing today is for the very last day of March. It is a man card, which I find quite difficult to do and usually end up using stars or monograms. Today I have gone down the monogram route.

I’m linking this up with Sunday Stampers where the challenge is to use new stash, or something you’ve had for ages and never used. Now in my crafting world resourcing this type of challenge is easy. I am shocking at buying new stash and equally shocking for not using it! Today it is new, new, new using some of my rapidly expanding Stampin’ Up! stash. You can find the full details for all the products I have used over on my Stampin’ Up! blog – Mrs Beez Stampin.

The monogram has been stamped in blue, onto white card, and then cut with a circle punch. I’ve used 3D foam to layer it up onto a scallop circle and then a square of designer paper. Again I have edged everything with Early Espresso ink.

I like how this turned out, a great man card. However, I am slightly apprehensive as I know the recipient’s 8 year old son scrutinises every card I send and will be (brutally) honest when he gives me feedback!

  1. I found your card to be very nice for a man. The colors and theme are great. I’d be very interested in hearing what that 8 yr. old has to say about this wonderful card.
Yeah out of the mouths of babes, they aren’t always very “tactful”. They tell things like they see it, a very honest trait in kids. Too bad we lose that as we get older or just don’t say anything. It’s kind of a vicious circle, be honest or tactful. With my adult kids I wait until they ask for my “honest” opinion on something, I don’t offer unless asked. Keeps the peace, lol

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
