Bird in blue

Already we have reached the half way point of our “Things With Wings” challenge over at Crafty Boots. If you buzz over today you can see some more inspirational projects from the DT and our special guest designers. Here’s the card that I am sharing

This beautiful bird image is actually from a sheet of digital paper that comes as part of the Gecko Galz Free Birds Kit.

I’ve layered up hessian, muslin and fabric and some burlap centre stitched ribbon, then topped everything off with a piece cut from the paper.

To decorate I’ve added some of my favourite organza rose trim, a scrap of lace, a button and coordinating rose cabochon.

It’s a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK and I’ve been continuing in my quest to tidy up my crafting space. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been able to tackle it and I can’t say I’m loving the stage I’m at right now as it feels like I will never get everything sorted.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. So much going on with this card, loving all of the textures and layers. For some strange reason I am really drawn to the stamp and franking marks.

    Enjoy the extra day off.

  2. I love the textures here Lisette … this is so pretty! I too have done a lots of sorting out and as for my craft room I feel like you do … It’s like painting the Forth bridge!

    • Thank you Ros. It’s such a slow process and, of course, can’t be crafting whilst I’m clearing 🙂

  3. As I love birds this is special to me, love colors you’ve used. Also cherish that gorgeous little rose cabochon, so pretty, what is it made of? Love all the gorgeous layers you added.
Sorry I’ve been absentia for while, both p/c’s out, had trouble with 7 something to do with Google chrome. Left alone for few days then yesterday decided to try something. Pressed ctrl escape and it came on just fine. Good as sure didn’t want to throw it out back door (which I sit next to).
Your card is so pretty, loving it. How you doing with your sorting?
Last week our grand daughter graduated from high school. She’ll be going to college in San Rafael, CA in fall which is just above San Francisco. She had choices of few but finally chose that one. She has scholarship, had straight A’s all thru high school. She’s a really great kid, great attitude, hard worker, nice person. Happy to be able to say that about our grand kids. One of grandson’s just completed first college year at Lexington, KY where he has full ride scholarship for chemical engineering.
From just plain old hard working kids came these awesome grand kids. Gee we’re not proud or anything.

    Have great week.

    • Hey – look at you proud Grandma, what an achievement!!!! Glad you didn’t have to throw your computer. The sorting ground to a halt this weekend as I was feeling a bit under the weather plus our heating has packed up and it is freezing over here right now so we’re huddling in front of the living room fire. Can’t believe it’s nearly summer!!!!!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
