I just love having an extra day off when it has been a Bank Holiday Monday. Not looking forward so much to tomorrow, but at least I have a very short working week as I am also off on Friday! On Saturday, my youngest cousin is getting married. Coincidently, her Mum, i.e. my Aunty, will be 70 on the same day so a bonus birthday present for her. So today’s project is the card I have made in her honour.
The 70 is made from some Anna Griffin cardstock. I printed the numbers directly onto the card and cut round it. I gave the numnbers an edge of gold glitter and then mounted them onto olive cardstock before cutting out again. I used the same olive card for the base of the card and then topped it with someGreen Meadow paper from the Gecko Galz Butterfly Meadow collection.
I used foam pads to attach the numbers and then threaded some blue and ivory seam binding through them. I made a nice full bow from the same seam binding and another from some olive ribbon. I’ve popped an olive button in the centre. I added some pale blue buttons and a daisy over on the other side.
The stopper is made from more olive card and Green Meadow paper which I’ve topped with the sentiment. I punched out some butterflies from the Anna Griffin cardstock and popped some yellow gems on the larger butterfly.
To go with the card I’ve made a “voucher” which entitles my Aunty to the treat of afternoon tea at Betty’s. Of course, me and Mr Beez will have to accompany her!
I am sharing this card over at Really Reasonable Ribbon for their current challenge which is buttons and bows. I am also linking this up with a new blog – Craftin’ Desert Divas who are currently having a “Cute as a Button” linky party. Thank you Tara for the suggestion 🙂
Now if you’d like to see the wedding card I have made for my cousin, you will need to buzz over to Mrs Beez Stampin’ as it is made entirely from Stampin’ Up! products including the dreamiest lace ever.
