Thankfully, I have been able to spend the day working from home today. Having been away, for work, for most of the week there is of course, in addition to everything else, a whole stack of emails to catch up on. I feel like I’m running hard just to stay in the same place and my poor old knees are paying the price!.
Anyway, on today’s project which is a card I have made for this week’s challenge at Papercraft Star which has this beautiful photo for inspiration.
As soon as I saw this, I knew exactly what I was going to do and here’s the result:
I’ve used some lovely paper from Bo Bunny together with some wood effect card plus a little terracotta cardstock to create mats and layers for the background. All the edges have been inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.
To create the wreath, I first punched out a ring using circle punches. I then punched out a pile of branchy fronds using two different Martha Stewart punches and a selection of cardstock in autumnal tones. I built up layers of branches onto the ring and applied to the background with 3D foam. To finish it off I tucked in some little berries.
I added crochet lace and some pretty grosgrain, that was in last month’s selection from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club, along the bottom. A coordinating bow and two tiny acorn buttons were the finishing touch.
I am also sharing this card over at Really Reasonable Ribbon for challenge #81 which is “Fall or Halloween and ribbon.”
Well I don’t know about you, but I am highly relieved it’s Friday. Tomorrow I have the craft show at Harrogate to look forward to. Hope to see you there if you’re going – I shall be the one who’s hobbling and has matchsticks keeping their eyes open!
Thanks for buzzing by.
