Another one of those dresses

Today I am sharing a card that I have made for this week’s challenge over at Papercraft Star. Here’s the photo inspiration for this week:

As soon as I saw those dress forms and the fabric, I knew this was another opportunity to use the lovely Gecko Galz basque image from the Bits and Pieces collage set. You may remember it from a card I made previously:

And here’s the new version that I have created:

I’ve decorated the top of the basque with a piece of ruffle lace, as in the previous card, but this time I have created a skirt using strips of seam binding ribbon that I coloured with ink pads, picking up the deep pink and green of the flowers in the bodice.

You’ll recognise the flowers, as I’ve made a lot of those recently, using the stamps from Sheena Douglass and the same deep pink ink

I used complimentary backing papers in pink and green and a strip of ivory crochet lace across the bottom of the card. The final touch was an extra scrap of ribbon and a small ivory button.

P1040571I made this card without referring back to the earlier version until I posted the photo here. I was quite to surprised to find that on both occasions I had used a green toned backing paper.

I shall also be sharing this card over at The Shabby Tearoom for Challenge #171 – Pink, green, ruffles and ribbons.

Thanks for buzzing by:)

  1. This is such a clever idea and looks brilliant.

(Your ubiquitous Sheena Douglass flowers are rather like my pink butterflies at the moment, but I shall be passing that particular baton over to you next week! 🙂 )
